Sleeping under the stars in Wadi Rum

JORDAN TRAVEL

by Wadi Rum Escape

Looking for a special experience in Wadi Rum?

Whether you are an experienced outdoor enthusiast or stepping out of your comfort zone, the desert is a perfect place to sleep outside under the stars.

After your jeep, camel or hiking tour, end the day of exploring with a fantastic view of the sunset.

One option is to sleep near the camp...

This way, you will have dinner in our communal tent and have easy access to the bathrooms.

Or, try a "Directed Bivouac"

You can enjoy a nighttime experience of the desert, sky and stars like no other-- camping in the open without a tent.  A local guide does all the set-up and cooking.

Telling stories and perhaps listening to traditional music around the campfire is a relaxing way to spend the evening.

Minimalist camping is more sustainable

Wadi Rum is a UNESCO protected cultural and natural site.  The spirit of wild camping preserves and respects the natural environment with a minimal ecological footprint.

The absence of  light pollution inside the Wadi Rum protected area makes the desert an ideal place for stargazing

Most city dwellers never experience a truly dark sky!

Bring with you:

Headlamp or flashlight

Jacket and warm clothes for evening

We provide all the necessarity items for sleep and the food and drinks. Easy!

In the evening  your guide can share with you what Bedouin life is all about. Share stories and appreciate the local culture.

Have a delicious bedouin meal around a glowing campfire.  The guide will also prepare breakfast for you the next morning before you head out to explore.

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”
